History of Al Xander

With an entrepreneurial spirit and a dream of owning his own business, Albert Xander set out on a mission. What started 70 years ago in a living room has grown into a third generation family business.

In 1951 when the business began, $3700 was the average family income, tv was becoming more popular and the first tests for color television were broadcast from the Empire State building in June. Super glue was also invented the same year. The industry was strong and it was a good time to work in America. The Al Xander Co. started as a small industrial distributor and eventually grew to multiple locations in PA, OH, NY, and WV.

The company has changed over the 70 years, however it remains a viable distributor in many different industries. With its main goal to "service the customer", Al Xander Co. looks toward the future with the same optimism Al had some 70 years ago.
